I've never had a rule like that for myself although I don't ever wear the race shirt to the race itself.

I saw that too! When I was a relatively new runner, I did that once or twice for short races. I've since learned the error of my ways :)

Wow, there sure were a lot of shirts out there. I guess the Toronto Marathon's plea and offer of a prize worked out for them.

On that note, it is a decent shirt this year!
