I haven't posted much lately that doesn't have something to do with running but today is a must for a different topic.
Last night, Anita and I ventured down to the Phoenix Concert Theatre and caught a show.
James (
http://www.wearejames.com/) are a British band that many people don't really know (although you would probably recognize many of their songs). Their live show is astounding and every band member truly seems to enjoy being there.
The set was almost 2 hours and the song choices did not disappoint. Still, we could have stood for a few more even though it was almost overwhelming. Unfortunately it is too hard to convey the greatness to someone who wasn't there but to us, it doesn't get much better than last night.
Singer, Tim Booth, stepped onto a house speaker so I reached up for a high five or a handshake...and he threw me for a loop when he grabbed my hand tightly and stepped down. I thought, if I drop him, there will be a thousand people pissed at me. What a thrill. We met up with a couple of fellow James fans who also helped get me tickets. Tania was kind enough to capture the moment.

Click here for a video, albeit poor quality, that captures the moment
I was worried he was going to shove the mic in my face when we sang together as I was so freaked out, my voice would have sounded worse than it already is!
My old dear friends, Rob and Ron would have loved this show. I felt 17 again!
There is no other way to describe this show other than brilliant.
The late evening did not do any good for my cold, especially during marathon week when I should be getting extra sleep.
See, I just had to throw a running reference in there!

I am feeling a bit better actually. A little stuffy but not too bad. I definitely feel like running though anjd need to test out new shows. Yes, NEW shoes (lightweight racers :)
I may take tomorrow off and sleep. By the way, you know too much rest for a race can be detrimental?
